Following this we read a story, "If You Take a Mouse To School" and then did calendar. We learned 2 new songs today: days of the week and months of the year. The students had lots of fun singing along with it!
For their language we listened to a story being read online, 'The Kissing Hand' and then completed an activity where they had to trace sentences about the main character in the story.
During Daily Five students rotated through 2 stations: read to self (choosing a book from the bin and reading anywhere in the classroom) and word work (putting the alphabet in order).
After gym with Ms. Lovan, we talked about sequencing in math and what comes first, next, then, and last. Students had to predict what would be in the last picture based on the previous information they had learned the last few days.
Then we had another snack break and recess. Following recess they had french with Mlle. Hou and then finished the day with UOI, talking about how to be a good listener.
Here is a list of what was sent home in their agenda bags today:
1. Scholastic book order forms
2. Welcome BBQ information sheet (if your child has an older sibling in the school they will get it from them)
3. All About Me Bag Instruction Sheet (I will put up a calendar so your child knows when it is their turn to show the class their items)
