Students did a fantastic job running/walking at the Terry Fox Run this morning!!
Recess/Lunch 1
Math - students practiced counting by 10's to 100. First we sang along to a song and then we worked together as a class putting manipulatives into groups of 10 first and then counting everything in total with whatever was left over. Then they completed a page in their Math Makes Sense workbook where they had to first guess how many fish were in the group and then wrote down how many groups of 10, what was left over and then how many in total.
UOI - students reviewed the difference between plant needs and plant parts by taping the correct words under the appropriate heading.
Then they played a game where 2 students came up to the whiteboard and had to point to the part of a plant I called out and whoever did it first received a house point.
Finally students completed a write the room activity for their journal time where they had to write down the numbers 1-15 on a blank piece of paper and then walk around the room writing down the garden terms around the room.
Then they had library time and it was time to head home!
