Language- students continued work with the blend 'ck'. First we brainstormed words we did from yesterday and then they added more of their own today. After completing the page in their journals from yesterday they worked together in groups or pairs to complete a word search puzzle that had the blend 'ck' in it or ended with it. They did such a fantastic job rising to the challenge!!

Recess/Lunch 1
Math - students reviewed the patterns AB, ABC and then today we worked on ABCD. We also talked about what the core of the pattern is. Students had to first guess what pattern I drew on the board then they took turns coming up to circle the core. After they would rotate tables using different materials to come up with their own ABCD pattern. We talked about how there needs to be 4 different pictures/shapes/colours. etc with it before it repeats again.
Students had lots of fun with the name patterns! They had to guess what was missing and fill it in.
UOI- Students first watched a story called "We're going on a leaf hunt", then we walked outside to hunt for leaves of our own and once they found the 4 different colours on their scavenger hunt page they used a paper clip to attach it to the paper.
Recess/Lunch 2
Journals - Today students used q-tips and paint to colour a picture of a pumpkin.
Then they had time for centres today!
