Terrific Tuesday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, question of the day and story

Language - students learned the blend sound of 'ar' today. After brainstorming words on the whiteboard they completed a page in their phonics journal and then completed a worksheet where after finding the words in a wordsearch had to find 4 words from the word bank to properly complete the sentences.

Then we rotated stations by matching the 2 pieces of hearts with the beginning sound and picture. The other station you had to match the 3 letter word to the picture.

Gym - Ms. Yustin

Recess/Lunch 1

French - Mlle. Jessica

Math - students reviewed time to the hour and half hour. Some are still struggling with remembering to put the short hand between the 2 numbers when its the half hour, so we practiced lots of examples today on the board. Then they completed a couple of worksheets.

UOI - today we learned about the community helper: mailman! Students watched the process of letters being placed in the mailbox, delivered to a processing plant and then sent out to people in the community. After they each chose the name of a student in the class from a box and wrote them a letter about their family day. They remembered to write the name of the student on the front of the envelope so they knew who it was going to and their own name on the top left hand corner so they knew who it was from. Then we placed it in our mailbox and they each got a turn coming up and delivering a letter. Finally they got to read their letters once they returned to their own desks. They had lots of fun!

 Recess/Lunch 2

Journal - students have been practicing how to add more detail to their pictures and writing. Today they wrote about their families.

Music - Ms. McMillan

Then some students finished their journals and others completed the sequencing cards. Then it was time to pack up and head home!

Have a great evening,
Ms. Bannon
