Terrific Tuesday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather & question of the day. Then students who brought money got to spend it at the book fair. They also had the opportunity to guess how much candy was in each container.

Language - students watched another video for the double ''ee' sound and added more words to our whiteboard. Then we had a student complete her show and share from Friday.

Recess/Lunch 1

Math - we started our new unit: telling time! First we discussed how fast a second was by clapping their hands once. Then they had to work with a partner to see how many times they could clap in 10 seconds. After that we moved on to minutes where they jogged in place for one minute then answered the question: is a minute shorter or longer than a second? They very soon realized it was a lot longer after panting for breath:) Then they all made predictions about what they would be doing or where they would be after an hour.

Finally they each received a small clock and after singing along to 2 songs they moved the hands of the clock to the correct time. They had lots of fun!

Then they cut and pasted the correct numbers in order around the clock.

Then it was time to pack up and head home!
