Terrific Tuesday

Students started off the morning with a fun house game that had to do with Earth Day! Each house had to sort items into either the recycling or garbage bins.

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, question of the day & a story

Language - students learned about the blend sound 'ir' and after brainstorming words on the whiteboard completed a page in their phonics journal

Gym - Ms. Yustin

Recess/Lunch 1

French - Mlle. Jessica

Math - together as a class we completed page 190 in their Math Makes Sense workbooks where they had to figure out whether or not a paper clip or straw needed to be used to measure either their hand or foot. Then they had to explain which one of those units they would use to measure the height of their teacher and explain why. Then they moved back to page 189 where they had to choose a unit (non-standard measurement tool such as snap cubes, straws, pencils, etc) and then measure specific objects around the classroom.

UOI - today we talked about which items made a happy earth vs a sad one. Then they danced along to a earth day remix song and completed an art and writing activity that had to do with earth day.

Recess/Lunch 2

Journal - students listed the different ways we can protect our earth

Then we practiced our arts night song, it's coming along really well!!

Have a great evening,
Ms. Bannon
