Wonderful Wednesday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, question of the day and a story

Then we had our reading buddies!

Then students had the opportunity to talk to each of their classmates to tell them all about their winter break. As soon as the music stopped, they had to get up, find another partner and repeat the same thing. They had lots of fun!

Math - We did a very quick review and then students wrote their addition unit test. They did a fantastic job retaining all the information from before the break and during. Well done SK's!

Language - Students didn't have time to complete language this morning because of reading buddies and the math test so they did it in the afternoon. First we talked about what sound the blend 'qu' made, then came up with words and finally completed a page in their phonics journal. They were really focused on their work.

Journal - students drew pictures and wrote 3 sentences about what they did over the winter break. Those who didn't get a chance to finish it today will complete it tomorrow.
