Calendar - students played the vowel guessing game from Friday, then we read a story.
Language - students completed 2 pages in their Writing With Phonics book and then completed a copycat butterfly activity where they had to draw the same designs on one side of the butterfly to match the other one.
French - Mlle. Jessica
Daily Five - Word Work (together as a class we played popcorn sight word game, students had to draw a 'popcorn piece' from the bag and read the sight word on it. If someone pulled out a popcorn piece that said 'pop' on it they all jumped up!
Work on Writing - students had to read the name of the picture, circle the correct spelling of it, and then write it on the line to complete the sentence.
Math - we began a brief introduction to Canadian coins. We talked about their size, colour, and numerical value. Then students had to complete a worksheet filling in the missing middle numbers, many of them took it home for homework as they didn't complete it during class time.
Instead of UOI after 2nd lunch, we started practicing for the in-class spelling bee that will be taking place on Wednesday, May 11th. So please continue to practice at home!! Then they completed a creative drawing activity where they had to draw a picture of what they thought the fisherman caught at the bottom of the ocean.
