Fantastic Friday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, question of the day & a winter story

Language - students reviewed the formation and sound of double 'zz'. Then we completed a worksheet where they had to sound out 3 & 4 letter words and whichever one had the 'zz' sound at the end or in the middle they coloured it in. After they worked together in groups to complete a morning worksheet that covered literacy and math skills.

Gym - Ms. Yustin

Recess/Lunch 1

French - Mlle. Jessica

Math - students began their subtraction unit today. First we watched a very short clip about Pete the Cat and his 4 groovy buttons where he loses one and he only has 3 left. Then students chose their own subtraction problem and after writing it down glued it to the bottom of a black piece of paper. Then they cut and coloured Pete the Cat and glued the appropriate number of buttons that matched their problem.

Recess/Lunch 2

Journal - students did an activity called snowball sight words. First I gave them a sight word to copy from a sticky note and then they crumpled it into a 'snowball' and threw it at the front of the classroom. Then once everyone had completed their words, they got up and chose a snowball to write down the sight word on a recording sheet. After they threw it back to the front of the class and chose another one.

Library - Ms. Hayward

Then it was time to pack up and head home!

Have a great weekend,
Ms. Bannon
