Then students headed down to the auditorium to hear the poem competition.
Language - today they learned the blend sound 'igh'. After writing words on the whiteboard they completed a page in their phonics journal.

Math - students continued learning about time to the hour by using the homework they completed yesterday. We took turns going around the circle and changing the hour hand according to what time they go to bed, eat dinner, get home, etc. We remembered that anytime the minute hand is pointing to the 12 its automatically _______ o'clock. We also reviewed that the hour hand is the short one and the minutes the long one.
Then we played a game between 2 teams where they had to see who could write the time in 2 different ways the fastest after I changed the time on the whiteboard. Example: 4:00 & 4 o'clock.
UOI - students watched a short video about penguins then completed the following sentence: If I were a penguin, I would __________________.
Recess/Lunch 2
Journal - students completed a write the room activity with different blend sounds.
Music - Ms. McMillan
Then students completed the writing activity from their journal time or finished their penguin.
Then it was time to go home!
