Happy Superhero/Princess Day!!
Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, question of the day and a story
Language - students worked on the blend sound 'oi', and then completed a worksheet where they had to fill in the boxes for the correct words.

Math - students are beginning a new unit: money. Today we talked about the penny. We learned that its value is 1 cent so you count by 1's to get the total amount. After students watched a video explaining it they worked at their tables in 4 different roles: counter (counted the total number of pennies on the table), verifyer (someone who made sure the counter got them all right), scriber (someone who wrote down the total amount on the whiteboard) and a reporter (someone who came up to the front of the classroom and let the class know what their group had. Then we rotated roles.
UOI- today we continued our lesson on firefighters! Students learned about the safety rule of stop, drop, and roll if their clothes were ever on fire and then they sang along to a firetruck song. Then we took turns taking words out of a bucket and after reading them they got to keep it. If someone pulled out a card that said SIREN, then they all could make siren noises.
Recess/Lunch 2
Journal - students had fun doing either a superhero or princess wordsearch
Music - Ms. McMillan
Students played a superhero matching game at each table.
Then it was time to pack up and head home!
