Marvelous Monday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, counting to the 100th day of school and a story

Then we had reading buddies!

Language - students studied the name, sound and formation of the blend sound ck. Then we watched a video and came up with words that ended with that blend. Finally they went back to their tables and completed a page in their phonics journal. 

Math - today we worked on the pattern ABC. Students reviewed it together as a class and then they went back to their tables and each one had a different manipulative to use to make an ABC pattern. Then we switched tables and they had the opportunity to use a different set of them.

Journal - Students completed the following sentence: In the fall I like to ___________. Today they even spelled the sentence together as a class.

 UOI - today we started our new Unit of Inquiry: the season of fall. We went outside to collect leaves and completed a leaf investigation as a class.

Then it was time to pack up and head home!
