Terrific Tuesday

Calendar - days of the week, months of the year, season, weather, and question of the day. Then students had reading buddies!!

Language - students worked on a letter u worksheet where they had to cut and paste letters to make short 3 letter words.

Gym - Ms. Yustin

Recess/Lunch 1

Math - students completed a worksheet where they had to circle yes or no to indicate whether each line was a pattern or not.

UOI - students talked about the sense of sight and watched a video that described what goes on behind their eyes. Then they had to try an experiment where they closed one eye and brought a pencil closer to the open one and discuss what happened to the object. They discovered it become blurrier the closer it got.

Then we talked about the scientific method in preparation for their science fair. We practiced one using the pumpkin we had in our classroom. First we went over the 6 steps then filled in the necessary information before actually proceeding with the experiment. We used baking soda and vinegar to make a small volcano. Some predictions were that it would make colours, the baking soda would disappear underneath the vinegar and the pumpkin would explode.

Then they went back to their desks to write the results.

Recess/Lunch 2

Music - Mr. Flower (students are beginning to start practice for their Christmas concert song)

Students had fun drawing on the pumpkin:)
